The Darling Library serves as an internship site for graduate students from the San Jose State University School of Library and Information Science. Students can earn from one to four units toward their Master of Library and Information Science degree through a practical field–based, supervised, professional learning experience at Hope. The internship allows students to test theories and apply skills learned in other courses taken during the MLIS program.
This month Miranda Lam joins us as our Systems/Electronic Resources Intern for Spring 2010. In this role she will earn three units focusing on assisting our library in the development of online library resources.
On a more informal basis, in August 2009 Julie Hong began volunteering in public services two hours per week. Since she had never worked in a library before, she contacted us about gaining some entry level experience as she began the MLIS program.
Welcome future information professionals!
