In the spring of 2008, Jackline Muthoka came to Hope International University from Kenya. She began working in the library immediately and continued working here until the end of December 2013 when she completed classes. She then spent some time in Louisiana on a research project before officially graduating from Hope and receiving the Contract Major of the Year award last month. Jackie was in a pre-med contract program with HIU and California State University, Fullerton.
It is our custom to add a book to the library collection in honor of our graduating student library assistants. Jackie chose a book called, Complications: A Surgeon's Notes on an Imperfect Science, by Atul Gawande to represent her passion for becoming a doctor.
Beginning this fall she will continue her next phase of education at the School of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. We are very proud of her accomplishments and wish her well in her medical career.
